学术报告题目：Interactions between stress andsenescence/ cell death
Her research focuses on gene expressionchanges elicited by stress in plants and fungi. In particular she is interestedin interactions between stress and senescence/ cell death. This work hasfocussed on three areas: (1) Plant organ senescence and responses to stress. This includes work on petal senescence in ornamental species, interactionsbetween stress and senescence responses in the model plant Arabidopsisthaliana, and the effects of post-harvest stress in models and crop species;(2) Genes regulating the effects of stress on plant cell division. Ofparticular interest have been the effects DNA damage/ DNA replicationcheckpoint controlling entry of cells into mitosis; (3) Stress induced duringmycelial interactions between competing fungi. This has focussed on woodrotting fungi, following gene expression and enzyme production as competingmycelia interact.
She also collaborates on other projectsto understand microbial/plant interactions relating to fungal and bacterialendophytes, and in the use of molecular markers to assist in fungal taxonomyand ecology. She is part of a number of collaborative groups and furtherinformation on our projects may be available on the web-sites of mycollaborators.
